This day encourages us to recognize the importance of creating a more accessible and inclusive society, where every person can develop their potential and participate fully in society. We must pay special attention to the needs and rights of persons with disabilities, combat discrimination and promote their social inclusion. The International Day of Persons with Disabilities reminds us that diversity is our wealth and together we can create a world where everyone can thrive, regardless of their differences or abilities.

The historical significance of Hanukkah stems from the victory of Jewish rebels called the Maccabees over Syrian invaders and the restoration of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. This event is also associated with a miracle when a small amount of oil intended to consecrate the menorah (seven armies) burned for eight days instead of one, which made it possible to prepare new oil. Hanukkah is a time of joy, fellowship, and remembrance of important events in the history of the Jewish people. This holiday celebrates the spiritual heritage that is passed down from generation to generation and calls for light, hope and solidarity in dark times.
