The day after Christmas is the time for the holiday magic to continue. After the festivities and gifts of Christmas, this day invites us to enjoy the tranquility, exchange fond memories and perhaps continue the joys of the holidays with loved ones. It's a moment for relaxation, socializing and extra moments of magic surrounded by family and friends.
Kwanzaa
Kwanzaa is a special holiday celebrated by African Americans and other people of African descent at the end of December. This holiday was created in 1966 by African-American activist Ron Karenga and serves as a monument to African-American history, culture and the fight for equality. Kwanzaa runs from December 26 to January 1 and consists of seven days, each dedicated to one of the seven principles called "Nguzo Saba". This celebration includes symbolic lighting of candles, recitation of poetic texts, music, dancing and traditional foods. Every day, families come together, discuss the meaning of each principle and mark it with candles on a special family book. Kwanzaa continues to serve as a reminder of the importance of unity, cultural heritage and the fight for social justice.
